Ina began skating at the age of four. She was born in Japan and emigrated with her parents to the States as a |
baby but she speaks Japanese. Ina competed in singles for Japan in junior competitions. Best result: 1987 World |
Juniors, 8th. She hails from an athletic family as her grandfather was a 1924 Olympic track competitor, her |
grandmother played tennis at Wimbledon, and her mother is an Asian Games swimming champion. |
Ina/Zimmerman teamed up in the summer of 1998 when Ina/Dungjen split up. The figure skater Zimmerman |
admires most is two time Olympic Champion Artur Dmitriev who is now training with them in Hackensack and |
who choreographed their Free Skating Program. |
