Risseuw/Paxton teamed up in July 2008. She was a single skater until then. Paxton moved to Canada when he was 16 years old to pursue his skating career. Risseuw started skating because her elder sister skated. Paxton started skating because his mother wanted to learn how to skate and took him along. Risseuw/Paxton admire Olympic Pairs Champions Jamie Sale/David Pelletier (CAN), and Ekaterina Gordeeva/Sergei Grinkov (RUS).
