Lee started skating after watching 2010 Olympic Champion Yuna Kim (KOR) winning the World title in 2013. She is the first Korean Lady to win the ISU Four Continents title since Kim claimed it in 2009 and the first to earn a World medal (silver in 2023) since Kim was World Champion in 2013. Lee was nominated for the ISU Skating Award 2024 in the category "Best Costume" for her Short Program costume in the first half of the 2023/24 season.
