Restencourt is the first French skater to land a quadruple jump (toeloop) in an international competition. He was
brought into figure skating by his older sister, who was a skater as well. She retired from competitions and is now
working as a coach. Restencourt and long-time coach Andre Brunet stopped working together in December 2000
just prior to French Nationals but teamed up again in January 2002.
