Russian skater Denis Petukhov looked for a new partner on the internet when his partnership with Oksana Podtykova dissolved in spring 2000. He found American Melissa Gregory and moved to the USA in September 2000. Gregory/Petukhov got married in February 2001. He received U.S. citizenship in February 2005. The couple changed coaches following the 2006/07 season and went from Natalia Linichuk and Gennadi Karpanosov to Priscilla Hill. Petukhov is taking part in choreographing the programs of the couple.
