Weinzierl also trained in competitive skiing parallel to figure skating but decided to focus on skating when she was 11 years old. She looks up to 2010 Olympic Champion Yuna Kim. Weinzierl competed with a broken blade in the Free Skating at the 2012 German National Championships. She switched coaches end of 2018.
