Kolyada is a silver medalist in the Team Event at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. He is the oldest of four children in his family. He got married to former competitive pair skater Daria Beklemisheva in July 2019. Kolyada is the first Russian skater to perform a quadruple Lutz in international competition (2017 Ondrej Nepela Trophy). He graduated from Lesgaft University for Sports and Health in St. Petersburg in June 2018 with a master degree. Kolyada missed the 2019/20 season recovering from sinusits and nasal surgery. He switched coaches in June 2020. He fractured his right ankle in August 2014 and sat out the 2014/15 season recovering from his injury. He had to withdraw from the 2014 National Championships during the Free Skating as a hook on his skating boot had come off. |
