Tursynbaeva followed her older brother Timur into skating. He has retired due to injury. Tursynbaeva is a professional violonist and studied at music school in Moscow. She is the first female skater to have landed a quadruple jump (Salchow) at an international senior-level competition (ISU World Championships 2019) During the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons she trained in a shopping mall in Moscow for several months before relocating for full-time training to Canada in spring 2015. She returned to Moscow and her previous coach Eteri Tutberidze in spring 2018. | |||||||||||
